Games without a taw sometimes involve different actions, like hopping in a certain way or following instructions called out by another player. One version of the game uses a ball, which is bounced in each square while the player walks along. Players might have to hop into squares with different colours or words, or there might be special rules about how you have to hop or jump, like jumping with your legs crossed. Sometimes players who complete a turn can claim a square by writing their initials in it, and no-one else is allowed to step in it.
When you’ve played the games below, you can add your own ideas and make up your own game to play with your friends and family.
